Industrial Valves and Actuators in Flow Control Systems

Industrial valves are essential components used to control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in various industrial applications. Different types of valves offer various features depending on the field of use and specific requirements. Among these, butterfly valves stand out for their lightweight structure and fast open-close mechanisms. In particular, lug-type butterfly valves and wafer-type butterfly valves are commonly used in pipeline systems.

For the automation of butterfly valves, different actuator systems are utilized. One such system is the pneumatic actuator, which operates using compressed air and provides fast response times. The electric actuator, on the other hand, uses electric energy to open or close the valve and is often preferred in systems that require more precise control.

In terms of material construction, stainless steel valves are frequently preferred. These valves, made from stainless steel, are highly resistant to corrosion and provide long-lasting performance even under harsh conditions.

Some valve types used in complex systems are specially designed to control the direction of flow. For example, L-port and T-port valves allow directional control of the fluid and are typically used in systems requiring multi-way flow regulation.

Valves and actuators are often supported by gearboxes and limit switch boxes. Gearboxes are used to enhance and direct the actuator’s movement, while limit switch boxes detect whether the valve is in the open or closed position. This is a critical component to ensure that the valve operates in the correct position within automation systems.

Industrial valves enhance automation and flow control, optimizing production processes and improving operational efficiency in industrial facilities.
